109 class collaborative “magazine.”

The 109 class developed (as a group) proposal submissions for a print publication modular grid. They developed a concept by focusing on a rough branding idea and varied and eclectic subject content.

Fuchsia (the name of the magazine) came into being for the class’ last project.
The class members then competed to develop:
• a modular print publication grid
• a publication style sheet
• an accompanying cover concept
• a table of contents
… all voted on by class members for the collaboration.

Each students then selected an article or column to develop at least a two-page spread of editorial content, and developed at least one page of advertising content. All students used the agreed upon modular grid (and baseline grid), branding feel, standardized publication style sheets.

Through a randomizer, the order of the articles was established, and the magazine developed. A printed copy will be on display as a non-voting item at the Student Design Show in May.
