GTC Graphic Design ranks with the nation’s TOP DESIGN PROGRAMS

Intelligent.com, a trusted resource for online degree rankings and higher education planning has announced the top 50 Best Graphic Design Degree Programs for 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

In 2021 Gateway Technical College moved up to a ranking of #2 (99.15/100) for students with prior credits, and to #1 in online Technical College Graphics!

Intelligent.com stated that any student that taking one of the ranked programs will give the students much quicker access to employment. With the job market growing in the Graphics field and the accessibility and cost for students is why intelligent.com did this research.

From our Friends at UW-Parkside

Gateway Technical College has a “2+2” agreement with U.W.-Parkside. Students may attend Gateway for two years, and enter Parkside as a ‘true junior.’ Students who are interested may want to apply for their Picken scholarship for incoming students. The flyer (click image below) has more details. The application due date is March 20, and the competition date is April 2, 2016.

Carthage College

Our friends at Carthage College recently had their students’ work on display on campus, including the lower level of the Hedberg Library.

Carthage College (Kenosha) is one of many four-year baccalaureate institutions where Gateway Technical College Graphic Communication Students may transfer into upon finishing their AAS degree to pursue their Bachelors Degree. UW-Parkside, Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, Mount Mary, UW-Stout, and many other institutions offer pathways for Gateway Students who elect to continue onward after obtaining their Associate Degree.

Gateway Graphic Comm provides even more options.

With many articulation agreements, Gateway Graphic Comm Students have more options than ever. Students can achieve their AA Degree and enter the world of work, or continue their education at a four-year institution (many of the agreements allow students to enter as junior-level students).
Some may additionally enter the world of work with an employer who may help them finance their BA/ BFA  (some larger local employers offer partial tuition reimbursement).

Make an appointment with a Counselor at Gateway to explore the vast number of articulation agreements on the books. UW-Parkside, Carthage College, Mount Mary College, Columbia College, and Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design are a few of the schools who have agreements with Gateway Technical College.

Gateway and Parkside Students Exhibit work at U.W. Parkside Galleries

The student galleries at UW-Parkside hosted two shows featuring the design work of Gateway and Parkside students. Opening receptions for both shows were held Wednesday evening, May 21st, 2014.

The Mathis Gallery contained The Immigration Experience Illustrated, which paired Gateway Design Students with recent immigrants in Gateway’s English Language Learner Programs.

The Foundation Gallery  housed Studies In Typography, featuring the work of Parkside’s Advanced Typography section, along with a handful of Gateway Alumni who have entered UW-Parkside’s bachelor degree studies.
